In 1992 Oprah had on Jane Elliott, who is a racism expert. She did a controversial experiment where she separated blue eyed people from brown eyed, and treated the blue eyed ones like shit. Fun ensues:

Whites were agitated mighty quick. Imagine 400 years of being shat upon? We are lucky whitey didn't get his throat sliced. I would also bet Christianity had a lot to do with keeping blacks from being violent. The holy spirit heals.

Whites should flee the golden calf.

There's this:

The white people all say height.

Crazed Zionists protest an Opera! In America? http://www.nytimes.com/2014/10/21/arts/ ... .html?_r=0

Good for the ADL; reports are that members of the JDL are there and such. Not any crowd for sanity. Good for DeBlasio too. See, I told Nason that Guiliani was nuts.

Watch out Frank, that sounds suspiciously like Judaismophobia to me. You must hate Jews.

This man is one of the most dangerous anti-Semites in the country? Looks innocent to me:

So, is Chomsky still too radical? Pretty mainstream venue.

Was Elie Weisel's book Night fictionalized? The late Alex Cockburn says yes:

No, this one is no supporter of humanity.

Have you read the book? Before you ask, yes I read it, years ago.

Terrific. A case of Ebola diagnosed in New York. Now the media have a home grown case to go apeshit over. Purely on an abstract level I suppose one can admire their skill in maintaining what I would call a "moderated" hysteria. They don't want a full blown panic. Under those conditions people might not watch TV. But on the other hand a careful reasoned approach might cause ratings to slip as people focus on other things. So they do a skillful job of keeping the forces in balance, a little thrill here, a little calm there. And people say infotainment doesn't require talent!

E, join me in the other forum to talk about this. We are looking pretty stupid right now with regard to public safety.

David Cameron strikes me as being the mean and stupid bully who keeps poking a feral dog with a stick, betting his equally mean and stupid friends that said dog will never take a liking to his jugular.

Decent media discussion from 1997:

Walter Issackson really gets attacked. Hitchens does give off a bit of the Chris we would see later in his right wing guise.

Greg Palast does it again. The purge of 2014 is on. http://www.democracynow.org/2014/11/3/j ... ck_program

If MSNBC does not have him on today they do not give a shit about voting or the democrats no matter what they say. Actually, ratings are better if the GOP wins.

I had Michael Eric Dyson wing me on Twitter. Obamadroid.

I asked Jake Tapper why Chomsky was never on. He's not a journalist or news maker, he said. The usual bullshit.

A newsmaker means he is a center/right stooge.

-----------

Rula Jabreal should have told Maher that the Ottoman Empire was broken up after World War one and that started the nationalism and violence between warring countries. The Iraq war started the Sunni/Shia fight. Before then they lived rather nicely, intermarried. Rather sad.
