There's been far too little of you in these here parts of late, Cookie.
War is, at first, the hope that one will be better off; next, the expectation that the other fellow will be worse off; then, the satisfaction that he isn't any better off; and, finally, the surprise at everyone's being worse off. - Karl Kraus
What I really want is a Wacom Cintiq tablet so that working with Photoshop or Painter might be somewhat enjoyable and somewhat like actually drawing and painting. It's too bad I can't get a device to make my computer emulate the smell of oil paint. Maybe I should squirt some out next to me while I work on the PC. God, I love that smell.

Re: Greed Corner -- what do you REALLY want for Christmas?
I want a subscription to a small, dingy, dinky gym. Not one of the big sparkly one with smoothies where the girls walk around in skintight leotards. One with a couple machines, not always busy, where a big old guy named Sol, bearing a strange resemblance to Burgess Meredith, would put me through my paces with strictness but no judgment. And I could lose this gut, some of these thighs and a little rear. Don't wanna bounce a quarter offa my butt or nothin. Just want to be thinner. And I really like food a lot, so gotta go with the exercise. I realize Christmas went by and y'all been done with this thread for a while, but a kinda thought it was a good one. Diane

A classroom full of quiet, well-behaved Doctor Who fans and a steady paycheque in the mail. Then I'd have to go out and join one of those gyms as well, where I wouldn't have to compete with a 300 pound 'roid ridden goliath to use the bench press.

I'm a woman of simple tastes. A passport, plane and pilot on retainer and enough money to see Jimmy Buffett, Bon Jovi and U2 no matter where in the world they are playing.
Oh, and may I have a liberal arts University? That way I know that my nice will have one to go to once she turns 18, shes only 10 now.

Ya got a point David. It would be a bit canibalistic for you to be eating one!

I can't go into too many details, but it entails a grand-prize winning lottery ticket attached to a very large amount of money.

I cannot go into too many details either but mine involves my lady, a large vat of vaseline, 6 midgets and a trapeze. Shhh, don't tell her but it is going to be her birthday surprise.....

Governments, if they endure, always tend increasingly toward aristrocratic forms. No gov't in history has been known to evade this pattern. And as the aristocracy develops, gov't tends more and mroe to act exclusively in the interests of the ruling class
