Susan,
RH48 made it to my corner of Orange County on Tuesday. I was starting to wonder. I can understand being a day behind Glendale, but a day behind Phoenix? Alas, my superpower was apparently temporary. As always the production is top notch.
Best to you and the hubby and your friends in these trying times.
And as always a good day to all here. Even you sissies who are against torture and are therefore responsible for all of this country's problems (Really, it's true! I heard it on the radio).

Got the latest Rabbit Hole! Thanks once again, Lady Susan of Wonderland! Another magnum opus, although I do miss the gold-embossed, ostrich leather-bound opulence of Rabbit Hole #47. Well, leave them wanting more rather than less, I always say.

Once again, thanks, Susan.

Dima, If I might make another suggestion would recommend Philip Farmer's 'Venus on the Half-Shell'. Farmer had fun impersonating Kilgore Trout and it's just as fun reading it.

Thank you. Yr. Pal, Harlan

KOS: There realy is only one choice of fruit that has the dark mhythology, the biblical history (it was, as any scholar knows, what we called the "Apple"in the Garden of Eden. Blood-red juice, a favorite aesthetic icon of Dali, fabled in opera song and story, the one you seek is, as I say "of course,:

The Pomegranate.

Grows on trees, notably in thousands of backyards in Southern California.

And a passion of mine.

JAN:

You are magnificent! Whatta holiday! The box arrived today. You hit on exactly half. 9 out of 18 never before seen, never contracted for, never paid for, never remitted as comp-copies, never advised as having been released, and due for recomoense; sans typo-correction, sans copyright, sans any chance to correct the lousy translationbs.

I will, of course, go after each of the companies like the hound of hell.

Your staunch efforts.

A mere thank you is like a motionless hook on an inert line, as opposed to the whip-smack of bending the rod into almosat a closed circle as the striped monster is smashwhacked overhead. I am no less than blind with gratitude.

Susan advises me of the presence of your note with the books. Subject: recompense. I was for sending the check in euros ASAP. Susan says, you want us to wait. We do as we're told.
We patiently await your instructions. Sending Deutschemark or Euros is no problem. We patiently await your instructions.

JAN: I went back and corrected every last typo -- recomoence,
translationbs, almosat; KOS: realyb, mhythology, missing parenthesis after Eden, close quotes after "of course." JORDON:
That should be "Downside" in the slug-line, not "DOWNSID."

Then I proceeded to lose the post.

This third attempt should be more than enough "mea culpa."

It's late; Im tired, Bountiful Pesach and illuminating Good Friday to you all. God knows, he just wants to spring it on you.

Fannish duty

Well done Jan. As I see it you have done your duty as a true fan in finding the illegal versions of those books. Its the kind of thing every true fan should do for an author.

I have tried for quite a while to prevent proof copies of Robert Rankin books being solf on Ebay before their release dates. The point is that proof copies are given for spell checking, review purposes and are not for resale. Some clown trying to make a fast buck (the last one I saw was selling for 40 which is nearly $60 or thereabouts) really sticks in my throat. I have no problem selling a proof AFTER the official release though. Just let the author have the chance to sell his book and get some royalties is all I ask. It is after all the sweat from his brow you hold in your hands.

For your pleasure:
Jeff Wayne's The Spirit of Man

I hope the folks that created this version received their fair share because they damn well deserve it.

Hello again Susan and Harlan,

Another fine installment of our favorite delivery by mail. I am, of course, writing about Rabbit Hole # 48. One of the few reasons to actually pick up the mail. Nice way to start the weekend.
