Where is this book Barber keeps talking about?

"you're aces in my book for having the drive to stand by your work. That's honorable and commendable in my book. "

He keeps talking about this book, Barber, where is this damn book and can we read it?

You are aces as well.

I didn't want to say this, but Cindy is in the worst possible state when it comes to justice, Texas is so full of corruption the dope dealers have police escort.

Molly Ivins railed about this for years, and yes, she actually wrote real books.

You want justice, Frank? Good luck. The closest we've come is an IA investigation into several police shootings here in Austin, but not nearly deep enough.
See, it's weird- virtually every violent crime here involves a knife (eight stabbings made headlines alone, not counting the deaths), a college girl was hacksawed up (that was a grim time, college boy & his manipulative girlfriend did it), and car wrecks galore, up to and including a man bare-knuckle beaten to death on Juneteenth. But by FAR the top killer in ATX, the number one cause of death on the streets of Austin this year were Police Officer Shootings. Fucking crazy time. I mean, on the one hand, I understand, this is the most liberal town here, so guns shouldn't be a problem for the public. But on the other hand, this is Texas, everyone's grandmother owns a firearm. It's weird. I would love to have a high Taser rate, the way things are going now. Since IA came here (the Feds showed up too, how nice) things have settled, but I wonder where we'll be next year, when people get hot and cranky.

Molly was great, I read her before I moved here. Saw her make some speeches, interviews. She was like whiskey and honey, smooth and fearless.
The medium is the message.

Kurt Russell as the Duke: "In MY book, that's NO GOOD."

You know, being near-and-around the Wichita Falls area for most of my lifetime, I remember a big hoopla about the Mean Streets of Austin two years or more ago.

What ever became of your sense of Safety, I wonder?

And, God bless and keep Miss Molly; I miss her too.
