Barber old chap, if youre a mod should you not be riding a scooter down to Brighton and avoiding us rocker types???

Lame gag I know and most Americans just wont get it. Watch Quadraphenia and it will make sense.

Barber's a fluffy jazz head, he doesn't even listen to da devils music.

Michael, the dark side lives. Don't go in the woods.

No I mean it. Lawrence Welk was possessed of the Evil One. Max Von Sydow wimpers in his sleep.

Actually, I'm not laughing. That was another way they denigrate the 60s.

I do remember my Grandmother watching Welk. She thought Barry Manilow was a hippie...lol

Do you consider yourself a progressive rock fan? Really?

Prove it.

Here's the first six minutes of an 80 MINUTE LONG SONG called "The Whirlwind," by Transatlantic. They're a prog "supergroup" with (ex) members of Dream Theater, Marillion, Flower Kings, Pain of Salvation & Spock's Beard.

Every note in this entire song is filled with awesome. Think Genesis/Zappa/Kansas/Zeppelin.

Thanks Duane

Was in an LDR in my younger days, and the dude sent me a copy of the song Lavender by Marillion with a note saying it was one of the songs he listened to when he got to thinking about me.

Man I think I almost drowned myself in tears listening to it for the first time.

Found a great little metal tune on No Disc, the second soundtrack album from the too-brief Cowboy Bebop animated series -- "LIVE in Baghdad." The music for the series was spearheaded by Yoko Kanno, but individual tracks were recorded by various musicians in Paris, Tokyo, & New York (the French contingent including the great guitarist Pierre Bensusan), so unravelling who actually contributed on any particular tune is difficult at best.

I won't vouch for the accuracy, but if you want to sing along:
