phpBB™ is now in its third major version. Version 3.0 incorporates a professional-quality modular design, high security, multiple-language interface, support for a multitude of database servers and complete layout customisation, all with a low execution overhead.

and next you'll be asking them to treat us like adults and allow us to edit our own posts too.

I moderate several phpbb sites, and admin 2 others, which are mostly about puzzles and puzzle solving, and I never have an issue with the other users because of that. And we do use v3, which is rather nice indeed.
