Thank you Cindy for walking point and expressing concern anyways when the rest of us were told not to. Like time doesn't do a little hiccup for us when we here this stuff. And thank you Susan for the update. I am going to PRESUME to speak for all of us when I say those two things.

And now here's our POTUS being all POTUSy.

The tough love section of Obama's address to the NAACP yesterday.

Susan, thank you for sharing that news, glad that HE is recovering nicely

I was able to get back to Philly last week and spend some time with my Mom, which helped put my mind at ease somewhat. Not the situation is any brighter, but just being there allowed me to go with her to some doctor's appointments and to have some of my questions answered. She starts radiation in 10 days, will receive that treatment for 5 times a week for 5 weeks, then the doctors will wait to see if the tumor recedes from the major vein and artery it is sitting next to. Should that happen, then surgery to remove the mass in early November is a possibility.

In the meantime, I just do what I can and try to talk with her as much as possible. My kids are still very confused about this situation. One of them said that he wanted to go with me the next time I go to Philly. When I told him that would not be possible he said "But I really want to see Grammy, I am worried I will not see her again". I had no idea how to answer him (and damn near drove off the road when he said it), other than to say that I hoped he would, which sounds as weak when I type this as it did when I spoke it aloud
