Damn,
I just saw this-- I'm a day late... I'd love to help on the creative side if you could use me.

Hey Rick, I'm still not sure where we go to see or inspect or comment on changes, or if there's even a "where" yet. Is there a "beta" site with a proposed new format or experimental pages? Is this all still just a figment of your fertile imagination that you have yet to formally begin? Are we simply in recruitment mode right now? But count me in for whatever you need. I can add creative content, I would be willing to moderate, I can throw a few drachma your way when necessary. My only major recommendation right now is I think we need to consider a way to take Jan's extraordinary and relentless work in the Literary Symposium and index/organize it into the phenomenal resource it truly is. I mean, just LOOK at the bottomless wealth of insight and discussion and honestly academic level literary examination he has created and inspired. I think there should be some serious consideration for creating a method to efficiently index and cross reference this material in any future incarnation of Webderland. It's priceless...

I couldn't agree more about what Jan's done. I definitely plan to find a way to index it.

Right now we're picking a web hosting company and a content management system. I'm flying into LA next Tuesday and will begin work in earnest. So probably next Wednesday I'll have something for people to sign into and begin looking around, as well as having the old site material available in a separate place for download/FTP/editing/librarying/etc.

I'm moving to a new house this weekend and I have a pinched nerve in my back, so that and getting everything freed up so I can work in LA unencumbered is taking most of my attention ATM. Also I have to figure out how to pay american express back for my plane ticket. :)

Rick

Just so ya know, I've got a friend who is supposed to be giving me a web crawler so I can go out and figure which of our existing links are working. He's just taking a bit more time than I'd like.

BTW, you have some very old writings under the link I rant, would you like those brought over or not?

Yep! I got a lot of people to get back to - just need to have a better place for them to hang their hat first. I appreciate it.

Sorry I wandered off for a long stretch right while this whole thing was developing. I've written Rick privately to express my provisional support. I don't know that I'm in much of a position to provide significant content or financing, but I'm always available to do fact checking, editing, and proofing.
