Nuked by Karma

Postby Kafkahead » Wed Aug 04, 2010 12:23 pm

Hello, Fellow Webderlanders of all shapes, sizes, genders and customs!

Lately, I've been under a streak of bad luck. Anti-virus went bust for a couple of days in my PC, and I didn't even notice it for the time period of two days. End Result: It is literally infested with trojan horses and viruses that simply didn't reach the window files because they didn't had the chance to do so. So now, my posting might be a little more delayed, seeing that I'm writing this post right now one a laptop that has crashed more times than the youngun trying his luck for the first time on the driving school derby.

Just thought I might let you know.

K.

Yeech.

Good luck with beating your demons into submission.
- I love to find adventure. All I need is a change of clothes, my Nikon, an open mind and a strong cup of coffee.

As long as you don't turn into an insect you will be well. What websites do you go to?

this is why we invented the windows restore point (depending on what version you have, of course).

good luck cleaning it up, if nothing else you can always boot in safe mode and manually delete things and clean up the registry. although I don't recommend it for novices.

Ah, yes, Windows Restore. I'd recommend it after the cleanup.

I'd recommend Malwarebyte's software, a free download:

http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-A ... 04572.html

The cnet website also has other useful downloads lower on the page. Adaware, etc. That might help clean the dross out of your computer and add a layer of protection.
