The flame wars are orchestrated by Steve and myself behind the scenes and we hope you'll like the next one better. As for Rick, you should know that the original Rick hasn't been heard from in many years - the current one is an alter ego of Steve's. (I was surprised too.) There will be no revamp apart from the deletion of the Ellison-related content. It's just one in a series of lies that will take us into war unless we stop him. As some may have noticed, it's already impossible to resign from Webderland. Duane and I, along with Harlan, are preparing a statement. We're basically sorry we helped attract and hold a small crowd. We will do our best to maintain the Bulletin Board or at least the Annex as an independent and critical force within Webderland. You can help us by

Correction: Fred Hampton, not Frank, in my final point to Frank.

Goodness, how bad could it have been?

There is still moderation. In all tenses of the word. That is a good thing. 8)

Right wing lunacy comes from the same mindset. If you want to believe the tea party have any real role to play in society you are welcome to it.

I have at times defended the tea party. They are right to be distrustful of government authority, they just lash out in the wrong way.

The mind set is the same, from the Klan to Glenn Beck. Differing degrees, but the same mind set. Paul Ryan is a shade away from the lunatic bin.

Their mindset is pro-violence, tending to support all out war. Fighting the Gog and Magog is a long battle for these mooks.

We should not downplay this, because they are dangerous. We may laugh at Sarah Palin, but let's not forget that they used to think Ronald Reagan was looney.

It was unfair of me to link those crimes to the tea party, but they do have similar mindsets.

Will lay down now.

I will note, for those lurkers who might not get the joke, that *I* was not the moderator who voided Jan's post.

I DID think it was funny, however...

Walter Mosely has some good ideas: nationalize natural gas, oil, metals, give the money to the people. Now that's the commons.

Yes, I've been done with that crazy shit for a few weeks now. Doing some more crazy shit right now. Navy boot camp isn't that hard; I'm sure what Harlan went through when he was drafted into the Army back in the 1950's was much more intense. That not to say it was all fun and games, but I was expecting Full Metal Jacket and it lived up to that maybe 50% of the time.
