Anyone interested in delving into the subject of why working-class people vote Republican when it's against their own interests should read WHAT'S THE MATTER WITH KANSAS? by Thomas Frank. Published in 2004, in the heart of George W. Bush's term, and, sadly, still entirely relevant.

Ezra in effect defends the Contras, so cheese is what we need.

This is the text of the story uncle Harlan mentioned on the other side. It gets scarier the more you think about it.

I remember the twilight zone episode, thinking it was pretty freaky. I'd never want to be at the mercy of a small kid. . .

Frank, I know it will be beyond your comprehension, and for that I am sad, but it was possible to despise both the contras and the Sandinistas. To see that there was no essential difference between Hitler and Stalin. Far right? Far left? Opposites as they both claimed? In truth, mirror images of each other.

Frank your ideology blinds you to the truth. Words mean nothing.

All that matters is how you treat people.

Read the short story. makes the TZ ep seem almost Saturday morning kids fare by comparison.

Ezra just proved how uninformed he really is. You cannot put down the kids at a rally when they at least try.

There's heaps of evidence on the Sandinistas. Shamefull.

Unca Harlan's on Youtube again, this time in an amateur documentary on the origins of The Terminator. I don't even want to see the comments. . .

Nobody has mentioned the irony of having Halloween on Sunday. I did notice that nobody was out partying. I just find that odd.

Jon Stewart did a good speech, but what he doesn't mention is that if you stop fierce rhetoric on our side then the right will be the only ones shouting and they will win.

I don't think it's been said better.

How often does that I have no mouth and I must _____ come up? Is it just your first post in a day or something?

I'm pretty sure I put that in there, I just don't remember doing it. Well, I guess I vaguely remember doing something LIKE that. I'm just so happy the dumb question on the Pavilion cut out 99% of those damn viagra / drug spammers. I know you guys don't see them unless I don't get to them first, but it's been a LONG time since I had to go remove one of those.
