OK gang, one post to address you all

Jan: You missed nothing. I figured that you all were intellegent enough to figure that the only crazy assed reason I'd go all the way to Pinks was the chance to meet Harlan. SO I didn't mention it.

Steve: The Tar Pits were mentioned and seemed to pique his interest a bit. They are in the same general area aren't they? Cynic has the right idea, I can do it myself if push comes to shove. I had forgotten that Southwest flys outta SFO, and it's less than 500 bucks round trip. I may have to break into my SSI retro savings, but it would be worth it. I don't know if you really want to meet me, but I'm up for it. I'm not the nice person I appear to be online

Frank & Cynic: I'm a strictly Mustard dog girl. Karut and onions if I wanna a really quick trip to Heartburn city, but good none the less.

Before I forget you are all a grand group of me, and I'm rather proud to be able to call ya all friends. I can call you all friends right?

Lori

Just checked the Southwest Airlines website, and i can get a one way ticket for 59 bucks!!!!

See, the powers that be want me to do this, and are making it affordable. now all I need is a cheep motel and I've got it made.

A weekend in LA, hot dogs, meeting new people and the possiblitiy of meeting someone I've admired most my life. God can things get any better.

Yeah they can. but I'll wait and ask for it once I acutally have the tickets in my hand and am ready to get things done!

Love ya guys

*S*

You're a doll Cynic

When I show up at LAX would you be willing to come and meet me? Or are you in the wrong part of the world for that?

I know all I'd have to do is nicely ask Steve, and he'd do almost anything for me. He seems like such a creampuff in that reguard.

lori,
if chicago is the wrong part of the world ,i am there.
my suggestion was to request H.E.s company at pinks.

were i anywhere near la.,i could certainly enjoy witnessing anything he might mumble past his dog,but personaly,i would not bug him for indication of his next expected visit to pinks to observe said mumble.

but enough of me,write the guy a letter.paper,envelope,stamp,..less than a buck.

yeah, that's right i'm a cheap ba...rd,but i'm saving up for a mud hut.

In the words of that immortal philosopher, Goofy, "Oh, gawrsh!"

You know it. (My job situation has changed a bit, so I'm not nearly so free-ranging as I was a year or so ago, but we'll work it out.)

The tar pits are directly adjacent to LACMA, and a five minute or so drive from Pink's. Definitely do-able.
- I love to find adventure. All I need is a change of clothes, my Nikon, an open mind and a strong cup of coffee.

Lori,

You know I'll be there if I can swing it. I'm gonna hit forty-two first, but we can celebrate together. I can't think of better circumstances.

Virgin America also has $59 dollar tickets plus some minor taxes, in case the competition is booked out.

Alan, all Lori will have to do once she meets Harlan will be to click her heels together three times...the man is the cat's pajamas, the shining armor, and the Ruby Slippers too! :)

For what its worth, this tourist thought the tar pits were immensley cool. . .
The airport security guard was so interested in the pamphlets I brought back, he let me take my king sized toothpaste on board!
