I know I mentioned this debate Noam had with Richard Perle, but I thought I should post it again, since we have some newbies:

Listen to the rest if you like. The first part is just a boring introduction..lol

Noam just kills here. See, he debates.

Both Perle and later Dershowitz go against the rules of the debate which agitates Chomsky to think debating is irrational, so he tends to think it is a waste of time.

Anarchists are not against the government, we just want the good parts of government, the parts that help working people to flourish, become more democratized and the authoritarian parts, government controlled by power brokers and elites to be dismantled. People should control how their government works, a pretty simple idea. The comic book anarchist is just that, a charactor.

Can mention that Eric Massa is insane.

Noam on the militarization of Haiti:

Cuban doctors were in Haiti even before the earthquakes. Venezuela gave aid and forgave their debt. You can hate Chavez and Castro but kudos for caring about Haiti way before we did.

Noam at his best, from C-Span. A call-in too. He is much younger, so he isn't talking as slow as he does now.

What is it with old folks and talking slower? Don't they realize that time is shorter? lol

I wish Harlan would talk slower..hehe.

This is why I love the Onion. They can have fun with someone without being overly hateful or overly fawning. All elites deserve to be laughed at, even the ones we like. If we can't throw onions at the ivory tower then life is no fun and we might as well all put guns in our mouths.
