David, I would say that the economy is not even ostensibly OK. Consumer confidence is on a downward spiral, gas prices are threatening to push inflation up again, and the housing bubble continues to hiss away. More than that, the real wages of employees continue to decline. Is the economy in terribl...

Eric, you say you a Bush Endurer, but your comments sound much more like you are a Bush apologist. You state that gas prices are high but the economy is generally sound. What is that based on? We have had the lowest growth of GDP in almost a century. Job growth is practically non-existent, our debt ...

Gotta say I agree with Rich on this one. Any publicity is good publicity, if someone picks up the comic version and likes it, they are more inclined to buy the original version.

Football team? Cheerleaders? A Jedi (or an Ellison groupie) desires not these things.....

Why should anyone be surprised by this? This Administration has shown that it does not care one whit about science, that it is driven by the right wing Christian Fundamentalist movement. From blocking stem cell research, to not allowing discussion of the use of condoms in AIDS prevention programs, t...

John, if I implied that Michaelangelo meant to represent Moses as devilish, then I apologize. As I understand it, your description is accurate, that it is a mistranslation of the light of God on Moses' face. However, others seeing the image of one of the most identifiable Jewish figures in history w...

Barber, I would like to think that it is not part of our fundamental human condition to condemn others to feel better about ourselves, but I have been called a kike or heard the term Jewing down too often to think otherwise. Sorry to be cynical. When I was in my early 20s, I started exploring other ...

Speaking as a practicing Jew, let me take issue with a couple of points raised in this discussion. From my own experience, all I can say is that these fundamentalist Christians look at athiests in a much kinder light than at someone like me. It might be because they believe my ancestors killed Chris...

Personally, I am going to go with the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster. Similar to Keith's argument, prove to me that he was not responsible for the creation of life on this planet

Just picked up issue #2 of Secret Six (this series spun out of the Villains United mini-series) and I would highly recommend any and all comic book fans to check it out. The comic begins with a very graphic torture sequence, moves to a difficult moral choice by the torturer, and then segues into an ...

Duane, that would be the solution he detailed. Just shut everyone behind a wall with one tiny little door and check in one them each decade or so. Much funnier when HE presents it

Adam-Troy, I understand your point that it is forcing Kitty (one of the first characters I ever really identified with and the first, I believe, to openly wear the Mogen David) to act do something against her character is an interesting twist but, for me, the juxtaposition does not work. Kitty is an...
