Re: Wathcya watchin'?

Ezra, thanks. This is not available through Netflix now, but I have the film saved for when it is released Mr. Evil, have you ever checked out the 1970 version of The Dunwich Horror with Dean Stockwell? Not great, but enjoyable B movie fare. I have seen that Call of Cthulhu and liked it a great deal...

Re: Whatcha reading?

Mr. Evil, I hear ya, and I remember those days of waiting very impatiently for the next installment of a comic to come out. That may be why I now stick more to the trade collections. One comic I am reading regularly is Locke & Key, by Joe Hill (Keeney, were you the first one to get me to read Hi...

Re: Whatcha reading?

Steve, I have to admit, when I saw Thanos taking on Galactus, Eternity, 2 Celestials and a bunch of other powers in the Marvel Universe, I thought, what in the hell can Spidey or Cap do against that? Almost picked up a copy of Infinity War yesterday with another coupon from my comic book store, but ...

Re: Whatcha reading?

Since Saturday was Free Comic Book Day, I picked up a graphic novel I have never read but had heard great things about: The Infinity Gauntlet. Have to say that no one does cosmic stories in comics better than Jim Starlin. Very fun read

Re: Wathcya watchin'?

I happen to love my Roku and Netflix. It is difficult to imagine watching television without it at this point. I finally got Karen to agree to watching the more recent version of Doctor Who, and she is enjoying it, to everyone's surprise. We are just finishing up season 1 and I admit I am loving the...

Re: Whatcha reading?

Doug, let me know what you think once you are finished with American Gods, but I may prefer Anansi Boys to American Gods. Both are brilliant, though. As I tihnk you know, I have about as much Gaiman material as I do Harlan stuff (and if you have not read Sandman, then I would start on that comic ser...

Re: Wathcya watchin'?

What I find most impressive about the Americans is the committment to making the show look as much like the early 80s as possible. With one exception, an across the shoulder seat belt, I have not found any instances of things being out of place on the show

Re: Wathcya watchin'?

Now that The Walking Dead is over for this TV season (and I am still annoyed by that season finale), I am trying to fill the gap until Breaking Bad, the best show on TV, returns this summer with The Americans and Scandal. Both shows have potential, but I am not thrilled with either of them yet. Also...

Re: Whatcha reading?

Good to be back, old friend.

As someone who has continually toyed with the idea of getting a tablet, what is it you do not like about using your iPad as an e-reader?

Re: Whatcha reading?

I was in Barnes & Noble yesterdat and considered picking up an Ian Banks book, after reading the news in the Pav now I wish I had. However, the book I did purchase, Bossypants, Tina Fey's autobiography is absolutely hilarious. Good thing I am no longer taking public transportation into work, as ...

Re: THE PAVILION ANNEX

OK, until Keeney called me and told me that this discussion was going on in the Forums, I had no idea it was happening. Even though your opinion Frank/Paul means nothing to me, there are people in this Forum who are my friends and I want to make it clear that I have sent no emails complaining about ...

Re: THE PAVILION ANNEX

I think it is OK to talk about my unintended little goyim controversy here, as Harlan does not visit the Forums. My girlfriend is a Lutheran, and I call her goyim all the time. Course I also call her shiksa (but she knows that is truly an offensive term that I only get to use because she knows it is...

Green Lantern Review

Green Lantern based on the DC Character I had been looking forward to seeing this film since I saw several of the trailers and they seemed to really capture what Hal Jordan was all about. Then I started reading reviews on sites that I generally trust and my expectations dropped like a stone. The mos...
