Re: Robert Nason's Culture Café

Robert I think that's what I love most about living in DC. It's still a human sized, walkable city. And it has plenty of street life and what our english friends call "commons", open areas where groups of people can interact. All the ugly shit is kept across the river. There are some blig...

Re: Robert Nason's Culture Café

Frank, thanks for reposting that video of James Kunstler. Re: Frank Church's news corner, the sequel.

I saw Dinesh D'Souza debating Richard Dreyfuss on Huckabee's show last night, and it was rather painful to watch: Dreyfuss was so plainly out of his depth matching wits with D'Souza. Dreyfuss has spent a lot of the time over the past number of years developing a "civics" awareness program ...

Re: Frank Church's news corner, the sequel.

Rob, you use the phrase "cronies in the Supreme Court" so often, I'd swear you have a key on your computer that types it out with one tap. Just who are these "cronies," and who are they cronies of? Do you consider Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Sonia Sotomayor, Stephen G. Breyer, or Elena ...

He stopped writing novels around 1982, but he still publishes short stories -- and God, he's published a lot of them!

Re: Robert Nason's Culture Café

Apparently a number of "hard" science fiction writers at the time protested BEYOND APOLLO being awarded the first John W. Campbell prize, arguing that the award should go to a novel that embodied the values that the late John Campbell himself supposedly believe in, which they felt Malzberg...

A good friend of mine who lives in a suburb of Atlanta, Alpharetta, says that there's now a place nearby that makes superb bagels. Apparently the lines are always long.
