Re: Frank Church's news corner, the sequel.

Indeed - up here there's some lousy CBC host who's apparently been preying on young interns for years. Not rape exactly, but some rather creepy and predatory practices. Famous people often thing they can get away with anything. And sometimes almost do. . . -------------------------------------------...

Re: Wathcya watchin'?

I caught a couple episodes a while ago, and thought the fault lay entirely in the delivery. The scripts were okay, but the acting and direction - flatter than a pancake!

Re: SCIENCE VS RELIGION

One scientific fact our side does use is the fact that perfect alignment of our planet led to it surviving and giving life to humans. Any small change would either burn us to cinders or freeze us blue and dead. This is why life is so incredibly rare in this large universe. Conditions are hardly eve...

Re: THE DOCTOR...is in

Spoilers as well Well, only modest ones, but why take chances? The Cybermen seem to be the Go-To monster for Supervillains in need of a Robot Army. Surprised the Master hasn't thought of it before actually. I think his return as "The Mistress" is really Moffat's way of preparing the audie...

Re: Wathcya watchin'?

Indeed, to explain what I meant by "a little too neat" would require me to give away the ending. But I suppose it could be incoherent as well: I couldn't tell you exactly how they got to that neat ending. . .

Re: Wathcya watchin'?

Interstellar, which I enjoyed quite a bit, though I found the ending (as mentioned elsewhere) just a bit too clean.

Alas, about an hour into this three hour movie, I had a dreadful feeling, which reminded me why I never usually buy soft drinks at the cinema. . .

Re: SCIENCE VS RELIGION

Here's the problem: If we're going by the conception of God being manifested as an old man with a giant white beard furrowing his brow at us from the clouds, then you can absolutely disprove His existence. Without a shadow of a doubt. But even the most literal-minded creationist out there doesn't a...

Re: SCIENCE VS RELIGION

I'm sorry, Steve, but that isn't a real answer. Even if you claim good can exist entirely without any help from God, you're still using terms as good and evil. Yes. So what? Why do we need a deity to define it for us? Why are such things dependant on the presence of a conscious creator? For an athe...
