Re: Wathcya watchin'?

I'd love to see what the guys behind the DC Animated Universe (Justice League, Justice League Unlimited, Young Justice, Superman, Batman, etc.) could do with a movie.

Re: THE PAVILION ANNEX

Well, Steve is right that Americans tend not to like art that sets out to blatently offend them or their beliefs, especially when it's partly paid for with taxpayer money, like the infamous "Piss Christ." But if you include populae arts like movies and music, then just about everyone like...

Re: Frank Church's news corner, the sequel.

An ISIS-controlled Iraq with all its resources could certainly inflict great harm on the U.S. Look what a handful of al-Qaeda guys were able to do by hijacking a few planes. I don't see ISIS controlling all of Iraq. The Kurds hold the north and the Shia with Iranian support control Baghdad and the ...

Re: SCIENCE VS RELIGION

Ezra,

I saw this review http://www.nytimes.com/2013/07/09/opinion/brooks-the-secular-society.html?ref=davidbrooks&_r=0
of Charles Taylor’s “A Secular Age.” and thought that if you hadn't heard of the book, you might be interested in it.

Re: Whatcha listening to?

Rolling Stone, the publication has always been self important twaddle. Band-wagon jumpers passing themselves off as trend-setters and arbiters of taste. They'll pan an artist at the dawn of his career, then change their minds when he becomes successful, and pretend they were on-board all the time. ...

Re: Copyright vs Copywrong

Tom I use Photoshop, which has an embed watermark feature. You have to customize it a bit. In all three of the cases I cited it was either someone letting me know that something was being used, or running across it myself. Unfortunately that's the only real way to track it down. Unlike music or lit...

Re: Copyright vs Copywrong

I electronically encode my photos before posting them with an invisible watermark...but this doesn't prevent a thief from using it. The only "protection" I have is playing a game of whac-a-mole in trying to track down and explain to someone that they have illegally used the work. Personal...

We'll scorch the earth
Set fire to the sky
We stoop so low to reach so high
A link is lost
The chain undone
We wait all day
For night to come
And it comes

Re: SCIENCE VS RELIGION

Ben, all I’m trying to “pick” is a discussion. I can only repeat what Lori was trying to tell you. The way you present your comments makes it dang near impossible to respond without pissing you off.

This statement sums up my take on the matter. Good luck Ezra.
