Re: Depression

One of my friends posted a very good link to a UK Charity called MIND on Facebook. The link is for information about suicidal thoughts. Its very interesting reading and very informative. http://www.mind.org.uk/information-support/types-of-mental-health-problems/suicide-supporting-someone-else/#.U2tl...

Re: THE PAVILION ANNEX

Go on and act like a fangirl anyway. you know you want to :)

I know I went a wee bit wide of the eye when Harlan said he thought me being a train driver was cool. I mean... I'm just me... nothing special. I feel so unworthy LOL

Re: side note

If my memory serves me right it means "Revisited" or "Redone".

Apocalypse Now Redux had an added section in it. So that is my understanding, though I am sure better minds than my own will clarify things better.

Re: ESSAYS ON LIFE: Nobody Asked Me, But...

Mr Barber, What an exceptional article. And one that is true of not just America but seems to be one that is true of my own country too. Great Britain? Well once maybe... Now, all I can see is an archaic tourist attraction. A has been that has much to be proud of in its past, and an equal amount to ...

Re: Doubts on Writing

I much prefer to write on a computer. For several reasons. 1. My spelling isn't great and a computer will highlight errors that can be corrected. 2. I dont actually own a typewriter and even if I did, I hear that getting ribbons is a bit of a bugger these days. 3. I dont think the machine used to cr...

Re: Writing for therapy

Thanks Diane, I knew it was a compliment. I guess I find it hard to take them, not because it dont feel good about getting them. More that I am so unused to getting them. I dont know if its well written or not. Its kind of weird, when I re-read stuff I have written I sometimes find it hard to believ...

Re: Whatcha listening to?

I am rather enjoying a bit of Mr B The Gentleman Rhymer. Gentleman rapper, or as he prefers to call it Chap Hop. Yeah I know, but it just tickles my funny bone. Oddly enough my son also seems to really enjoy his music too. Probably because there is a liberal dose of humour in there. http://www.youtu...

Re: International Politics Debate

There are a lot of scary people who could be potentially in charge of the USA. Trust me on this, that should scare you a hell of a lot more. At least the Uk's Pm , David Cameron, isnt scary. Bit of an scumbag perhaps, but not exactly scary. Not in the least bit scary for me is the idea of Scottish i...

Re: Writing for therapy

Thank you Lori

I dont know if I have found my voice yet. Or even if I am close to it. But writing that was, I suppose, my exorcism of demons.

It seems to have been well received. I think it has touched some people at least. In my humble opinion, no bad thing.

Writing for therapy

Many of you will know I am going through a somewhat bitter divorce. Is there such a thing as an amicable divorce? Not that I can see. Even the most amicable split seems to run into this mire of accusations, blame and worst, arguments over money. I decided as a way of getting rid of my own frustratio...

Re: Whatcha listening to?

I've been listening to the soundtrack from the movie Dredd.

I think its damned good. Very heavy, dark and fitting for the movie.

That one is my favourite from the soundtrack. Moody and simple.

"She's a Pass". great stuff.

Re: Whatcha reading?

Mark, one thing I do know, Surface Details is wonderful. I loved it. There is also a rather nice little epilogue that if you have read the other Culture novels will hit a chord. Definitely well worth reading in my opinion. As for the Cloud atlas movie, I loved it. I know it divided a lot of people, ...

Re: Whatcha reading?

I am currently reading Cloud Atlas, mostly because I seem to be one of the few people out there who really enjoyed the movie. So I decided that as books are always better then film adaptations I should give it a go. It is most definitely a decision I have no regrets about. It is a delight. Next on t...
