Harlan,

I don't believe Mark Owens has ever landed on this site, but I wanted to inform you that his father passed away this Saturday. Knowing how far back the two of you go, I thought I'd share this with you.

I, Robot....

Seeing as how the Will Smith "I, Robot" was very loosely based on Asimov's -- I truly believe he's rolling around in his grave because of it -- story...do you still hope they will turn your script into a movie?!

David, that video is hilarious - you should create a soundtrack and give them voices, I can just hear the cat when he grabs the dog's collar - "Knock it off, ya bum!" Meanwhile, you inspired me to put some stuff up on YouTube myself - got a couple clips of my directing, my voiceover stuff ...

Agh! No can do, David - I'm meeting with eight different recording studios all day Monday and Tuesday around Seattle, trying like hell to get some voice work going before my grubstake is completely gone. I will, however, urge my daughter to get over to one of the Portland performances and give me a ...

Wups! Sorry there, David - I remembered you mentioning the age difference in your marriage over drinks, but by then I had imbibed more than one, so it was a bit fuzzy (I'm a cheap date, two drinks and I'm fuzzy). At any rate, I've always felt that age doesn't have a whole lot to do with successful r...

May-December? Welllllll... in both David's and my life, Peg. I know that my thespic brother is a bit older than his wife; and the extraordinary Alia, light of my life, is actually twenty years younger than I. Just one more example of how I am the luckiest man alive.

David! Sorry to hear about the health problems - please take care of yourself, lie down, have some chicken soup, drink plenty of fluids, take your medicine... wups, sorry, started channeling my mother there. But seriously, my friend, here's hoping you're back on your vocal cords soon. Alia and I are...

David, my contact info should be in your inbox - IF the email addy I have for you is indeed correct. Once more I was bemused by the contrast between 'net personality and real-time character. In the years we have exchanged emails, Michael came across to me as elegant, gracious, polite, and humble. In...

David, that truly sucks. It would have been a fine showcase for your talent. Very sorry to hear it.

Hell - why don't I propose Midsummer to the PAE? I'll come down and direct, you could play Bottom, my daughter could be my assistant/dramaturge, just like old times....

Yes, much big fun was had last Friday night! The production was stellar, even though I say it as shouldn't 'cause my daughter is the director - but really, a sensational show with a sensational cast. I was so proud of her! The blocking, the use of the space, the little moments, the big moments, the ...

Yeah, BOY! That is easily the single most slap-happy, rib-tickling FUN role in all of Shakespeare's work! Many, many BIG congrats to you, David! Midsummer is the play I have had the most experience with in all of Shakespeare. I have played Oberon, Theseus, Starveling, and yes, Bottom. I have directe...

Sorry, I was unclear - the following weekend, like the 11th to the 13th. Plans are not yet firm, but that's what I'm aiming for. According to my daughter, these pix were taken during final dress. Sorry there's no record yet of you Saying the Sooth, but hey, I'll bring my camera, we'll see what we ca...
