Re: HE on Christmas

Thanks to everyone who replied.
Regardless of whether it was Christmas or Xmas, did we find out where that essay is printed?
I guess the question now could become are there any other holidays HE has written about? Grandparent's Day?

Thanks

HE on Christmas

Hi!

Does anyone know if HE has ever written anything on/about Christmas? Essay, fiction, etc.?

Thanks

Typewriters

Hello!

Would anyone here have any background on what typewriters HE has used over the years? I know he keeps lots on hand for parts and has a bunch of ribbon in storage. I'm looking to learn more about typewriters in general and HE was the first person I thought of.

Thanks,

Bookshelves

Hi,

HE recently mentioned trak-bookshelves or bypass bookshelves as a way to save space. A quick Google didn't really turn up what I think he's talking about. Any pointers in the right direction?

Thanks,
Tony

Re: Cornell Woolrich

Thank for the help, Tony! I've ordered the Omni from Amazon and I may see what my local library has as well. I've also heard HE speak about Gerald Kersh (I know he edited a collection of his work) and I have yet to read him as well. I get the feeling I could read just HE referred authors for the res...

Cornell Woolrich

I just heard Harlan read "Tired Old Man" and I'd love to read some of the stories HE mentions that were his favorites by Cornell Woolrich. A search of Amazon seems as though there's just a spotty amount out there. Would anyone happen to know of a decent collection to get by Woolrich? While...

Copyright

Has the issue of copyright (how to, what gets copyrighted, credit for work, etc.) been discussed here and, if so, where could I find a good primer on the subject?

Sincerely,
Tony Adams

New Yorker and Dreams

Name: Tony Source: unca20090603.htm Dear Harlan, I'm sorry to hear about the New Yorker, but I took a lot from your response to it. After decades of being a working writer you didn't sound bitter and you didn't sound surprised. It is what it is. If there's anything I've learned from you and your wo...

OTR and disappointment.

OTR for Harlan

Name: Tony Source: unca20080913.htm Hi, The episode you're talking about was from 02/09/47 and is episode # 90. According to the Sperdvac catalog, they only seem to have it available as "Printed Matter," which I am assuming is just the story as it appeared in the magazine. I have asked the head of ...

Um...does it mean that I will never get to experience such an out-of-this-world taste like this since I cannot stand mushrooms? Sounds good without it, but maybe that's the best part.
