Re: Visual Artist's corner
Not sure if I've shared this here or not (a cursory glance tells me "No") but I've been posting "Picture of the Day" images as well as my last couple of blog entries. http://thumbnailtraveler.blogspot.com Nope, but I've been following along on Facebook. :-) Good stuff.

Re: Frank Church's news corner, the sequel.
Personally? I think it's China. Especially considering that North Korea's (very limited) access to the internet relies on a very tenuous connection provided by the Chinese. China doesn't like it when one of their allies screws with their business connections. Most of NK's technological infrastructur...

Re: SCIENCE VS RELIGION
It took years in a hellhole prison in Egypt to radicalize some jihadis. For many Jihadis it's taken considerably less effort. Humans tend to be a gullible and easily swayed lot. Look at how many non-arab teenagers from Europe and the North America have been caught trying to sneak off and join ISIS ...

Re: Visual Artist's corner
I bet you all envy National Geographic's photographers? Envy? I used to, until I found out how much work it really is. That sort of disabused me of that notion. That and most of these guys are photojournalists, which is not something I've ever really wanted to be. Plus I hear that Steve McCurry can...

Lori - That bit of road is actually just a maintenance access for a flood control dam. It sits about 100 yards south west of my house.
Tim - Thanks!

Re: THE PAVILION ANNEX
To prove I am not against modernist art, the Garden of Earthly Delights is possibly the greatest painting ever. Huh? Considering that the painting dates from between 1490 and 1510 how in the hell does that support the notion that you're not against modernist art? Maybe you should take an art apprec...

Andrew You haven't been here long enough to know this, but if you Frank is allergic to the phrase I don't know, but it sounded good at the time. Lori dear, I've been here longer than most (my posting history notwithstanding). I've been dealing with Frank since the days of the old black and yellow m...

I'm still waiting for you to clarify your remarks and all I get is more word salad. It's like you're channeling Ginsberg, badly.

Defend popular culture, which is a culture, but selfies are mostly misused as is Twitter and much of the internet. Frank can you explain what you're trying to say here? This is more of that nonsensical word salad that is hard to comprehend. "Defend popular culture, which is a culture..." ...

Good take here about the idiocy of selfies: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iej9asP0uBA Jello, it is fine, selfies are not cool. Harlan would punch anyone doing a selfie. lol So much hate on an artform that's been with us for nearly as long as we've had art. Self portraits are a very respected and ...
